Inactive /Non-Practising

Opticians of Manitoba members may register and license as Inactive /Non Practising members.

A Non-Practising licence does not allow the Optician to practice Opticianry. All Non-Practising members are required to sign an undertaking which states they agree to refrain from the practice of Opticianry in Manitoba for a given period.

Inactive/Non-Practising members are required to maintain the same Opticians of Manitoba (OOM) Maintenance of Competency requirements as set out for active members.

A Non-Practicing member may license as an Active member at any time by paying a fee calculated on a pro-rated basis to the maximum of the member’s fee category, either as a Licensed Optician or a Contact Lens Licensed Optician.
